The Innocents (who used to be called “Beathoven”), with 25 + years of experience, from self-made Pop Stars to elder statesmen of Power pop, this iconic Tasmanian musical outfit has done nearly everything......except have a smash hit record. Perhaps this is part of the magic of their story; massive success may have spoilt the story. They modestly refer to themselves as The No Hit Wonders from Down Under. They toured with AC/DC, Stevie Wright, Ted Mulry, Split Enz, and Steptoe and Son (Yes, The British comedy legends),while performing their Swan Song tour of the Antipodes. They loaned their guitars to Meatloaf, Foreigner and Blondie when they performed on the legendary Australian TV Pop Show Countdown (they themselves performed several times and had two top ten hits). .....Wrote and recorded an album in one night with Kim Fowley.....Sang over the phone to Bruce Springsteen......performed to a crowd of over 100,000 people under the pseudonym, The Men of Harlech "Charlie's Getting Married at Last" b/w "Tribute" (K-8312) which was the Queens favourite song in 1981. Here for you to download is that single recorded for Mushroom Records, produced by Ol' 55's Jim Manzie for Jim Manzie Productions at Trafalgar Studios in Sydney and engineered by Malcolm Devenish.
