Uncanny X-Men were formed in 1980/81, first as a four-piece band featuring Brian Mannix, Ron Thiessen, Nick Matandos and Michael Helms. Chuck Hargreaves later joined. The band quickly became a popular live act around Melbourne’s pubs, forming a loyal following. Their first Mini LP “Salive One” (L20022) was recorded November 2 1982, and two days after they landed a contract with Michael Gudinski's Mushroom Records. Got this the day it was released in Melbourne- I remember I was a little disappointed in the song choice but pleased nonetheless the boys had a record deal. Thanks for the rip.
Nice one - thanks for posting. I heard about the Uncanny X-Men from an expatriate Aussie friend of mine here in Dublin and checked them out on YouTube - I was most impressed.
