Post 70 - Mike Preston - Dear Heart
Mike Preston (born 1938 in Hackney, London, England) is an international film and television actor. Preston had been a boxer before switching to a singing career. He had three hits in the UK Singles Chart, before immigrating to Australia where he performed as a nightclub singer. He then became a host on television, and then an actor. His first ongoing starring role on television was in the long-running police drama series Homicide as Sen. Det. Bob Delaney from 1972-1973. He later appeared in the soap opera Bellbird as Father John Kramer between the years of 1974-1976. He later took a lead role in prison-based soap opera Punishment 1981, but this series was short-lived. Would love to know where Mike Preston is now. He and my Mum went to school together.. I have a photo of him taken in 1949 before he was famous..
