Post 402 - Alan Hawking - If I Win Tattslotto / The Partner Nobody Chose
Alan was born on the 7th of July 1931, he worked as a cabinetmaker, so he made his first guitar which led to a guitar making hobby. Later he joined the well known fretted instrument maker in Melbourne, “Maton” he stayed 15 years until he became a professional musician. In 1955 Alan & Brother Russell formed The Hawking Brothers, as a duo they recorded their first 78rpm Regal Zonophone disc, “My Darling Daisy”. Since then almost 30 more recordings in the Hawking Brothers name for W & G, Parlophone”, “Fable”, “Planet”, “Crest”, “Columbia” and “RCA”. Alan recorded 3 LP's and 5 singles for RCA as a solo artist, here to download is his 1982 single "If I Win Tatts Lotto" b/w "The Partner Nobody Chose" (103973). In 1988 sadly Alan passed away on 19th September.
