Post 46 - The Town Criers – I Can’t Help Myself
The Town Criers formed around 1965 in Melbourne. Their first single was a cover of The Kinks “The World Keeps Going Round”. In Late 1967 they were signed to the Astor label by Ron Tudor. In February ’68 they released a strong version of “Everlasting Love”. In the later half of 1968, The Town Criers travelled to SE Asia where they entertained American and Australian troops stationed in Vietnam. This was followed by a trip to the USA where they appeared on the Bob Hope Christmas special. In ’68 they covered the ’65 hit for the Four Tops “I Can’t Help Myself”. Here you to download is the B-Side to "Everlasting Love", “I Can’t Help Myself” (A7095).
